Murray & Murray announces appointment as co-counsel to national Toyota Sudden Unintended Acceleration Litigation in California
SANDUSKY – Murray & Murray announced that together with Bailey & Glasser, L.L.P. of West Virginia, they have been appointed as co-counsel in the multidistrict litigation pending in California regarding Toyota Sudden Unintended Acceleration. Benjamin Bailey of Bailey & Glasser is the named representative to the MDL. Nine attorneys were personally appointed to the consumer claims alleged by plaintiffs. Mr. Bailey is the representative for Murray & Murray Co., L.P.A. as well as his own firm and several others to work on the national multidistrict litigation based in California on the Toyota Motor Corp. Unintended Acceleration Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation. As co-counsel, Murray & Murray is pleased to participate in the MDL litigation.
“We are honored to participate on behalf of plaintiffs who lease or own Toyotas which either were recalled by Toyota or in fact suddenly accelerated causing injury, death or property damage,” said Dennis E. Murray, Sr. “The appointment to the Plaintiffs’ Management Committee allows us to participate in the framing of the issues and discovery regarding the design of the brake and accelerator pedals in Toyota vehicles, the marketing campaign to sell those vehicles, and the damages sustained not only by consumers who purchased or leased Toyotas but also by businesses and other individuals impacted by the misrepresentations and fraud committed by Toyota. I am pleased that we will have an opportunity to participate in this national litigation.”
In March of 2010, Margaret Murray lectured at a national conference in San Diego, California on Toyota Sudden Acceleration Litigation on Liability Issues: The Mechanical v. Electronic Debate. Margaret spoke at a second national conference on Toyota Sudden Acceleration in May of 2010 in Orange County, California on the Admissibility of Other Similar Incidents of Sudden Acceleration. Murray & Murray has litigated sudden, unintended litigation for more than a decade.
