The District Court for the Northern District of Ohio had previously granted final approval of the class action settlement in Martha Vassalle, et al v. Midland Funding, LLC, et al, Case No. 3:11-cv-0096, but the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed the settlement order and has remanded the entire proceedings back to the trial court for further legal proceedings, which will unfold over a time table, for which we have no current estimate.

In the lawsuits, Plaintiffs alleged and then proved that Defendants violated the law by filing collection lawsuits against Plaintiffs with affidavits that contained false information as to the personal knowledge of the signers/affiants.
Previously, on March 11, 2011, the Court had granted preliminary approval to the proposed class action settlements in: Midland Funding, LLC v. Andrea Brent v. Midland Credit Management, Inc. Case No. 3:08-cv-01434; related cases: Martha Vassalle, et al. v. Midland Funding, LLC, et al., Case No. 3:11-cv-0096; and, Hope Franklin and Thomas Hyder v. Midland Funding, LLC et al., Case No. 3:10-cv-0091.
