Murray & Murray Fights to Obtain Injured Motorcyclist’s Insurance Benefits

December 23, 2014

Murray & Murray Co., L.P.A., announces that the firm recently obtained a settlement of $77,500 on behalf of an injured motorcyclist, who suffered substantial injuries after he was struck by a negligent uninsured driver.  The negligent driver made an errant left turn, without yielding the right of way as required, and plowed the motorcyclist into a parked car.  As a result, the motorcyclist suffered from a painful knee injury, which caused significant lost income and benefits, medical expenses, and derailed his chosen career as an HVAC technician.

Murray & Murray partners, Leslie Murray and Florence Murray, brought legal action on the client’s behalf in the Erie County Court of Common Pleas against the negligent driver and the client’s insurance carrier, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company.  The firm obtained a judgment against the negligent driver.  However, the action continued against State Farm, which repeatedly refused to provide full coverage.  Finally, after mediation and repeated negotiations with the insurance company, Murray & Murray obtained the settlement that was finalized in November.
